Oversized serif display with a red accent word, a confident sans for the apparatus, a comfortable serif for reading, and mono for the datelines. Punchy and opinionated, but clean.

Display. Headlines, the wordmark, drop caps, and pull quotes. Weight 400, roman and italic — the italic carries the red accent word.
Libre Franklin
Apparatus. Navigation, kickers, section labels, topics, buttons, and metadata badges. Weights 400–700; uppercase labels ride wide letter-spacing.
Newsreader
Reading. The body of every essay is set in it, at 20px with generous leading for long-form comfort.
